02 Jun Take a clue from team in blue
The composition of team India keeps changing. Players who were an integral part of the team suddenly are left in the lurch.
Some greats fall prey to sports injuries. Some have personal issues. Some have political issues. Some just lose form.
However, a good sports system keeps track of rising stars. They ensure a strong bench strength. They ensure the best support staff. They ensure the best facilities. In short they are experts in cobbling up the best team.
Team India that won the championships in the past may look like a different composition but even now they pack a punch and are adequately skilled to climb up to the top of the pecking order.
As an investor I would bet on team India rather than bet on Rohit Sharma or a Virat Kohli or any other individual cricketer.
As long as I bet on Team India, my returns will be good and stable and as long as I bet on individual players my returns will stay volatile, unpredictable and haphazard.
This example is to draw your attention towards investing in a mutual fund versus individual stocks.
If you think you have the power, capability, influence and insights of BCCI or in this case the Fund Manager then by all means invest in direct stocks but if you are like everyone – wise and successful in your profession, allow the Fund Manager to do his job and instead of looking at individual stocks invest in a mutual fund.
